That's what put me out of the army in the late 70's.
Basically, the tendon is stretched and/or partially disconnected from either the foot or knee areas. This (at least in my case) can cause the other tendons in the lower leg to try to compensate. This leads to vise like cramping during and after any extended exercise.
In extreme cases (as was mine) surgery is needed.

i'm not sure how bad mine is, but i can only walk short distances before it all cramps up like how you described above, and then i can't move anymore. i can only walk bout 1/2 mile if pushing it before it flares up anf then it takes days to get better. is it something to worry bout then, cause i was told by someone i know that it wasn't anything serious to worry bout?

Very definitely something to worry about
See your doctor for the correct treatment which may include physiotherapy Do nothing and it will continue to get worse requiring surgery

i've been to see a consultant, that is how i found out that i had got it. before that i went to the gp's bout 7 months ago and they just said that i had pulled a muscle. in total i have been suffering with it for about three years, and as time has gone by it has just got worse and worse, up to the point that i just can't walk anywhere anymore. what else is bothering me is the fact that they tested my blood circulation in it too and it was low, has that got anything to do with it. sorry for all the questions but so far i haven't spoken to anyone else like you that seems to have suffered from it quite badly.

Low blood pressure should not be a symptom, rather a result of something else.
For instance, with the pain in the leg, you have stopped exercising. 3 years of taking it easy can cause any number of problems.
I think you need to get back to your doctor, refer to the report of your consultant and get a full check up.

i never once said that i have taken it easy on my leg for the last three years, far from it, i think that is one of the reasons why it has got worse.

Sorry Sam, but when you said: "i have been suffering with it for about three years, and as time has gone by it has just got worse and worse, up to the point that i just can't walk anywhere anymore"
I thought you were telling me you were fairly sedentary.
In any event, as you say the leg is getting worse and now you have been made aware of low blood pressure. LBP is nothing to play with and needs to be looked at.
