It always depends on what the cause is.
Temporary relief can be obtained with gentle exercise Lay on the floor and roll your hips from side to side. Stand and do some slow bending at the waste. Squat, place your hands on the floor in front of you and stretch gently.
You can also try a medication call Robaxicet or a recommended muscle relaxant.
In my case, I've allowed my waistline to grow to darn large. The extra wight is placing an off center load on my back, hence the pain. (lugging a two year old around doesn't help)

Any form of natural solution to the problem, as chemical medication doesn't have effect any more.
It is mostly muscle pain

Ahhhh, i have this trouble.... I use pure essential Lavender oil.... I have a hot bath with about 10 drops of lavender in the water, put the drops in just as you are about to get in the bath..... After if you can or get someone else to do it, rub the essential oil into the affected are.... Make sure you only use Lavender as this is safe to apply straight to the skin, not all essential oils are as safe as lavender to do this and normally need mixing with a base oil... The crystal Carnelian is also good for lower back problems, lie with the crystal on the effected area, but remember to cleanse it first..... If you can get hold of a Fire Opal, its red or orange in colour, this will also help to elevate the problem, be warned if you intend to use this stone and you have any bottled up emotions they may suddenly be released ... So if you start to cry its natural your releasing those bottled emotions.... ;D... Verminda...
