Dragon’s blood is a red resin that derives its name from the word ‘drakaina’, which means female dragon. It comes from the Palm tree family and the resin is obtained from the fruits of the tree. There are several varying species and at least 12 different kinds are recognised and used for medicinal, fumigant and decorative purposes.
Astringent in action, dragon’s blood is very useful in cases of irritation of the mucus membranes of the pulmonary and zenito urinary organs. It also stops bleeding externally and internally it is used for chest pains, post-partum bleeding, internal traumas and menstrual irregularities. At one time it was used in the treatment of syphilis.
It is a masculine plant and is associated with the planet Mars and the Element of Fire. Its powers are known for love, protection, exorcism and potency. It can also be used in destruction spells such as breaking an addiction of compulsion. It can be burned to entice errant lovers to return and is usually done so for 7 days in a row and by sitting by an open widow whilst looking out of it at night. A stick of it placed under a pillow will cure impotency. Its resin is a very powerful protector when carried, burnt as incense or sprinkled around the house to drive away evil and negativity. A pinch of it added to other incenses will increase their potency and power.
A charm to promote fearlessness.
Require:
One purple candle, one bloodstone or hematite, 4-inch square purple fabric, 3 pinches of dragon’s blood powder and one red ribbon.
Light the candle and meditate for a while on your reasons for fear. Place the stone on the cloth and say;
Bloodstone/hematite, Warrior’s stone, Grant that fear no longer roam. Inside my heart or in my head. Crush it, stone – it’s gone and dead
.Sprinkle the dragon’s blood powder over the stone, one pinch at a time. With the first pinch say;
With this pinch, my fear dilute. Reduce its voice until its mute.
With the second pinch say;
The second chases fear away. And dissolves it so it cannot stay.
And with the third, say;
The third one brings me nerves of steel. And helps me face each new ordeal.
Gather the fabric edges together and secure them with the ribbon to form a pouch. Place the pouch in front of the candle and leave it there until the candle burns out, then carry the pouch with you.
