My dear little Mystique has been going out of the house and bringing me "little gifts" and leaving them on the foot of my bed. In the last week she has brought me 2 dead mice and a dead mole! Have you ever had this problem before?

Greetings Danufaye, yes my lovely cats' have also left me little goodies, i must say not at the foot of my bed normally just outside the back door, and they have not done this for a while...As much as it seems cruel, make a lot of fuss of your cat, they are showing off and will always bring back their prey just to say, look at me aren't i the cleaver one ;D.....That's why we love them so much....Verminda

oooh.... can we post links to other sites on here? I saw a great site a while ago where this computer whiz set up a computer recognition programme on his cat flap and if the cat had something in it's mouth, the computer would lock the flap! Made me laugh. A lot. ;D Very clever too.

That is very clever - I wish she would quit thinking she needs to bring us these gifts - lol - she's such a spoiled baby anyway!

she is just showing you how much she loves you, my smokey does it all the time and these presents vary, one day it will be a bird, the next it will be a mouse and on the odd occasion he has even bought back frogs where he gets them from i do not know

You are so lucky, danufaye! Your feline friend is offering her skill as a hunter, to the person she feels is 'Top Cat'! She feels you are important enough, as an 'alpha' in her family group, to offer food to you FIRST! So that you survive in periods of shortage, even if she goes hungry! She has obviously been well-loved, and is a very contented familiar! I appreciate that piles of dead birds and vermin hanging about the homestead, might not be the image you want to represent to your neighbours, though!

My cat Jet brings me feathers. She sometimes brings in live mice and I tell her to take them out as I do not want a mouse running around. She takes it outside and when she returns she has a feather for me. She has learnt that live things are a No No but feathers are fine. I have a collection of crow, magpie and pigeon feathers that she has brought me. I sometimes wonder what she thinks I do with them, she comes in and lays them at my feet very pleased with herself.
